From his foster mom: What a sweet dog Charlie is. Rides like a champ in the car. Loves people and dogs, but not cats. Walks very well on a leash. Loves having his head scratched and is a total lap dog. He’s a tall boy, about 80 pounds, with long legs, big feet and a huge head. He needs to put some weight on though, he’s a bit on the thin side. He seems to have no food aggression at all, as a matter of fact, he likes to take a break during eating, walk over for a hug, and then go back to his dish. Or he just lays down in front of his dish and eats. This guy has lots of personality. He chases the tennis ball but he isn’t allowed to have it so I’m not sure if he will bring it back (I have a tennis ball hog in my house). He seems to know sit and shake already, but he does get nervous if you move your hand over his head too quickly so I suspect his previous owners weren’t too kind to him. He wants nothing more than to be close to his human and he bonds very quickly. He knew exactly what the dog door was, so he was probably let inside the house at one time. He’s curious about my other dogs, but submissive to the pack leader. And his coloring is striking. Charlie is going to make some family a wonderful dog.
Introducing Charles, a male chocolate lab who we believe to be about 7-8 years old. He was described by the shelter staff as a good boy and very sweet. He is quite the handsome pup with very distinguished markings. He is great with other dogs, but he needs a house without cats. Charles would like nothing better than to have a forever home to call his own. If you can give him that home call (505) 362-0331.
Am I handsome or what?
